There are a number of reasons your Xbox® may have difficulty detecting certain games, including damaged CD and console. Some of the most common problems include:

Hidden Dirt

Hair, particles, and debris can enter the interior of the Xbox and cause disc errors and malfunctioning internal components. The fractional laser lens is the most important thing: if it is dirty it will not read the disc correctly and will need to be replaced.

Foreign Bodies

Defective Hardware

Depending on the age of your system, your hardware may prevent only discs from playing on Xbox. There are levers, rollers and screws in the drive, and on top of that, if any of them break, some aspects of your Xbox won’t work the way they used to.

On rare occasions, Power Xbox settings can interfere with the operation of the drive. Instant Power Mode provides faster trigger activation and voice prompts. But could this also prevent some consoles from reading or recognizing inserted discs?

How To Fix Xbox Disc Errors

Is your Xbox One drive not working? Here are some of the solution experts we recommend:

1. Check For Damage

Examine the disc. Look at both sides of the disc. Are there any scratches, stains, tears or chipping? Insert a disc and listen to how it vibrates or vibrates as the drive spins continuously.

Why does my Xbox one keep saying disc unreadable?

The “This disc is not readable” error can appear on your Xbox when you try to play a Games on Demand game on your console. This issue usually occurs when you are not using the same profile that you purchased the board game with to play the game, or when your console is unable to read the game files from your storage.

Examine the entire console. Examine your Xbox console for physical damage such as smudges, dirt, or dents. Has he ever fallen or knocked overfell? If so, the included disc drive or disc may be damaged.

2.Clean Up The Components

After inspecting the parts for damage, it is important to clean the inside of the soundboard and your personal soundboard from dirt and grime. For this you need a few things:

  • Microfiber cloth
  • Soft bristle brush
  • Compressed air can
  • Alcohol bottle

Clean the drive from dust. Use the included microfiber cloth to wipe the area around some discs to remove hair, dirt, or debris. Then carefully use a soft-bristled brush. Clean the hole (or drive bay) industrially or with a can of compressed air to blow out hard-to-reach dust.

Clean the disc of residue: Use a microfiber cloth to wipe both components of the disc, especially the bottom. You can apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the cloth to remove the sticky residue, but be sure to let the disc dry completely before putting it back into the Xbox.

3. Try A New Drive

Try inserting another disc into the Xbox One. Do they have the same conflicts? And if the disc works, see if those discs play on another console. Sometimes a game or Blu-Ray® disc won’t work if you bought it in a different region for your console.
